Prohibited Items & Conduct

1. Overview

HireHopping is for renting tools and equipment in a safe, lawful, and respectful way. Users must comply with this policy when creating listings, sending messages, posting reviews, or otherwise using the platform. HireHopping may remove content, cancel rentals, or restrict accounts that violate this policy.

2. Always prohibited items

• Firearms, ammunition, firearm parts, silencers, or firearm accessories.
• Explosives, fireworks, detonators, blasting equipment, or explosive components.
• Illegal drugs, controlled substances, or drug paraphernalia.
• Stolen goods, counterfeit goods, pirated items, or goods that the user does not have the legal right to rent.
• Hazardous chemicals, toxic substances, asbestos, radioactive materials, or other dangerous substances.
• Pornographic, sexually explicit, or sexually exploitative items.
• Items that promote or facilitate hate, violence, discrimination, terrorism, or unlawful activity.
• Any item that is illegal to possess, use, advertise, rent, or supply under applicable law.

3. Restricted or high-risk tools

Some tools may only be listed or rented where the user can demonstrate that the item may be lawfully and safely used. HireHopping may require additional verification, safety information, proof of ownership, or other supporting information.

• Jackhammers, concrete cutters, chainsaws, and other high-risk power tools.
• Industrial generators, heavy equipment, and high-powered machinery.
• Tools or machinery requiring licences, permits, qualifications, or specialist training.
• Any item that HireHopping reasonably considers unsafe or unsuitable for peer-to-peer rental.

4. Prohibited content and conduct

• Users may not post or send abusive, threatening, hateful, discriminatory, sexually explicit, fraudulent, or illegal content.
• Users may not harass, intimidate, threaten, exploit, or deliberately offend another user.
• Users may not use listings, reviews, messages, or profiles to promote scams, fraud, deceptive activity, or unlawful transactions.
• Users may not deliberately provide false, misleading, or deceptive information about a tool, rental, payment, identity, or transaction.
• Users may not attempt to bypass HireHopping safety, moderation, verification, payment, dispute, or account-control processes.
• Users may not encourage another user to conduct a HireHopping rental or payment outside the platform where doing so is intended to avoid applicable platform protections, fees, or safeguards.
• Users may not impersonate another person or business.
• Users may not repeatedly send unwanted, spam, or irrelevant messages.

5. Content moderation

• HireHopping may use automated filters and manual review to detect potentially prohibited content.
• Content may be restricted, prevented from being published, removed, or referred for review where it appears to violate this policy.
• Automated moderation may not detect every violation, and users remain responsible for the content they submit.
• Users can report inappropriate content or behaviour using the reporting tools available in the app.
• Users can block another user where the blocking feature is available.

6. Enforcement

• HireHopping may remove or restrict listings, reviews, messages, or other content.
• HireHopping may cancel or restrict rentals where safety or policy concerns arise.
• HireHopping may issue warnings, temporarily suspend accounts, or permanently ban accounts.
• Repeated or serious violations may result in immediate account suspension or termination.
• HireHopping may preserve relevant information for safety, dispute, fraud-prevention, or legal purposes.
• HireHopping may report suspected illegal activity to law-enforcement or other authorities where required or permitted by law.

7. Reporting concerns

• Users should report unsafe listings, inappropriate content, suspected fraud, harassment, threats, or other policy violations through the reporting features available in the app.
• HireHopping may review reports and take action based on the available information and the seriousness of the reported conduct.
• Submitting deliberately false or malicious reports may itself result in account action.
